CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES
Primary Systemic anti-neoplastic treatment is increasingly adopted either in clinical trials or
daily practice as treatment for both operable and locally advanced breast cancers.

This treatment approach represents an ideal setting to test the tumour sensitivity in vivo to a selected therapeutic approach; it also allows the explenation of the interaction between anti-neoplastic therapy and tumour biology, and can provide surrogate parameters of treatment efficacy.

The Unità di Patologia Mammaria - Breast Cancer Unit located within the Azienda “Istituti Ospitalieri di Cremona” has team up with leaders in the field to organise the Fourth International Symposium to highlight and discuss the state of the art and future directions in primary systemic treatment of operable breast cancer.
